GJAOC Board Meetings are typically held at 1:00 pm on the first Thursday of the month when there is no luncheon scheduled, except July. Meetings are both in person and via Zoom. Only Board members receive agenda and other relevant emails but all GJAOC members are welcome to receive them or attend meetings. If interested in being included on the email list or attending via Zoom, contact the GJAOC Membership Chair who can provide you with further information on how to join in. In addition, meeting agendas are posted as soon as they are generated on the Library page at agenda with information on how to join via zoom.

GJAOC Luncheons are typically held quarterly at the Santa Ana Elks Lodge. Generally, general meetings start at 11:00 am while lunch will be served at 11:30 am. Dates and times, particularly many months out, may be changed as needed but will be updated here as soon as possible.

Election of Board

Each of the eleven GJAOC Board Directors serve up to three two year terms. Five are up for re-election this year after serving their second year in 2026. Four are seeking re-election while the fifth, Karen Kindschi, has decided to retire after several years of exemplary service. Thank you, Karen!. The four are:

Nominations for the fifth spot will be taken from the floor. Dues paying members will then vote on the slate if more than 5 are running. In that case, paper ballots will be available. Those elected will be sworn in at the December Luncheon General Meeting.

Program and Speaker

The September Luncheon speaker will be Orange County District Attorney Investigator Bruce Linn. He is currently part of the Science and Technology Unit’s Digital Evidence Mapping Analysis Team (DEMAT) and has been with them for the last 11 years. He has testified as an expert in cell phone records analysis, mapping, and the cellular theory in the Orange County Superior Court over 250 times, before the Orange County Grand Jury about a dozen times, and in Federal trials. He can be heard on the popular five-episode podcast “Detective Trapp” about the Orange County serial killers Steven Gordon and Franc Cano in 2014. He is a member of the Orange County Homicide Investigators Association.

Parking– Remember that parking in front of the building is reserved for Elks Members only and we are to park on the outskirts of the building, on either the north or east side. Any disabled can park up front in the marked stalls.
Membership Dues– Time to pay your GJAOC membership dues for the current July 2026 to June 2027 year. You can do so at the Luncheon. Dues are $20. NOTE: New members who are finishing their Grand Jury service June 30 get the 1st year free!
Lunch– Lunch is $25 for dues paying members, current Grand Jurors, and court staff; $35 for members who have not paid their dues and guests.
Payment– You may pay by cash (exact change preferred) or check (made out to GJAOC) at the door. Please note that we no longer accept credit cards. Also note there is an ATM on site for those who need to obtain cash.
Select your meal option from below. Note there are 4 to choose from. The venue asks we get a head count to them a week before the event so please reply to this notice or send an email to rsvp@gjaoc.org by close of business Thursday, August 27. You will ALWAYS receive an email confirming your selection. If you do not receive a conformation email by a few days after you send your RSVP, please resend to ensure your reservation is counted.

Option 1- Appetizer: Garden salad; Entrée: Chicken Florentine (spinach & teardrop tomatoes with white wine garlic sauce), wild rice, vegetables
Option 2- Appetizer: Garden salad; Entrée: Lodge Meatloaf (thick cut with hunter sauce), mashed potatoes, vegetables
Option 3- Appetizer: Cup of soup du jour; Entrée: Classic Cobb Salad with grilled chicken & dressings on the table
Option 4- Appetizer: Garden salad; Entree: Vegan/Vegetarian Penne Pasta made from red lentils with no flour, with tomato sauce & roasted vegetables

Dessert- Red velvet cake
Drinks- Coffee, iced tea, water

November 1 and 2, 2026- CGJA Annual Conference

The 43rd Civil Grand Jurors’ Association of California Annual Conference is scheduled to be held in Sacramento. The two day affair brings together the individual County Grand Jurors’ Associations. While details are pending, for more information refer to the Conference page on their website at cgja.org
