March 2024 Luncheon

Elections Are Upon Us
Do you want to see a deeper level of how elections are administered in Orange County? Many of us have taken tours of the Registrar of Voters (ROV) when we were sitting on the Grand Jury. Orange County’s ROV is award winning and supports the 5th largest county election in the nation. The ROV is looking for folks to help out with volunteer and paid positions available. December 2023 Luncheon
The GJAOC Holiday Luncheon was held Thursday, December 7. We were treated to a wonderful presentation from special guest federal Judge David O. Carter who always gives an informative talk. He spoke about his recent trip to Ukraine. The 2024 Board members were also introduced with the new members being sworn in by Judge Carter.
GJAOC Booth at Placentia Tamale Festival
The Placentia Tamale Festival was held in downtown Placentia from 4:00 to 10:00 pm on Thursday, December 7. Karen Kindschi and Ken Blake handed out flyers as they manned a booth at the festival. Our community events are always lots of fun!
Ambassador Training Held September 19
The first Ambassador Training was held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Orange County Superior Court. The schedule is being finalized now with the first Court tour scheduled for late October. See the Ambassador page for more information.
September 2023 General Meeting and Luncheon Recap
The Fall GJAOC Luncheon was held September 14th at the Santa Ana Elks Club. The general membership elected six new Board members who will begin serving their terms in January 2024. They are:

Dr. Colleen Fitzpatrick was the featured speaker. She is a forensic scientist and entrepreneur, widely recognized as the founder of modern Forensic Genetic Genealogy. She described the research to find the identity of “The Unknown Child” whose remains were recovered after the Titanic sank on April 15th 1912. OCTA Board Members Chosen
Two new members to serve on the Orange County Transportation Association (OCTA) board were chose at the June 26, 2023 OCTA Board meeting. The potential candidates were selected based on recommendations from the GJAOC’s Taxpayer’s Oversight Committee Selection Panel. See the OC Go page for details.
2023-2024 Grand Jury Sworn In
The Grand Jurors for the 2023-2024 panel were sworn in on June 30th.
The 2022-2023 Grand Jury Completes Session
